Dormitory

Housing
Student participants will be housed, double occupancy, in dormitories. They will be separated by dorm or by floor by gender, and OSU rules require that there be an adult chaperone for every 10 students under 18 years old. The Northwest IB Association of Schools will supply these chaperones, but adults who accompany their students are also welcome to assume this role. Students will be issued individual keys to their rooms, but only chaperones will have keys to the dorms, and the dorms will only be open during meal times and the hours in late afternoon and early evening during free time. (Chaperones will be able to let students back into their rooms at any time in case of emergencies.) Bed linens, towels, washcloths, blankets, and pillows will all be provided and must be returned at the end of the conference.

It should be noted that Oregon State University dormitories, like all buildings on campus, are smoke free, and smoking is not allowed within 30 feet of building entrances or open windows.

Specific dormitory rules will be posted on this website at a later date, and at the beginning of the conference, chaperones will go over these rules with the participants.
